3. Supporter subscriptions and donations
All editorial content on ennuination.com is free to read for everyone. There is no paywall. Articles, collections, investigations and series are open to every reader.
Supporter subscriptions are voluntary, at £2 per month, billed through Stripe and renewing automatically until you cancel. Becoming a supporter does not unlock any content — it gives Ennui Nation a regular income so we can keep doing the work. In return, supporters receive:
- A choice of newsletters — you pick which of our newsletter streams you receive from the options available.
- Topic submission — you can submit topics, subjects, stories or issues for the editor to consider covering. Submissions inform what gets worked on next; they do not come with publication guarantees.
You can cancel at any time through your account. Your supporter status continues to the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. We do not offer automatic refunds for supporter periods already paid. If you believe you are entitled to a refund (for example, because of a billing error or a failure on our side), email hello@ennuination.com and we will consider it fairly. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected.
Donations are voluntary one-off or recurring contributions in any amount you choose. They are not refundable except in the case of a technical error; contact hello@ennuination.com. Donations are not charitable gifts for UK tax purposes.
4. User-submitted content
Where we provide features that let you submit content (for example, a comment section, a reader feedback form, a source submission), you confirm that:
- The content is yours to submit.
- It does not infringe anyone else's rights.
- It is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or obscene.
We may moderate, remove or decline to publish submitted content at our discretion. We do not undertake to publish every submission.
5. Third-party links
We link to other sites for editorial reasons. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Following a link is at your own discretion.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, or actions by our hosting providers may interrupt access. We are not liable for losses resulting from such interruptions.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ennui Nation Ltd is not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.
- Loss of profits, goodwill or data.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
